The NPC Account will be used for various different functions. It will be a very important account that will serve everyone eventually in their time on the Destiny.
Function 1: An enemy or character not played by anyone. This does not include people who haven't awoken, but if a player disappears, their character may be NPC'd. Aliens on the planets that are visited, or wild-life.
Function 2: The computer. If you want to know what the computer would tell your character, just tag the NPC account (or the admin account) and the NPC will let you know what the computer tells your character. If you try to fire a weapon, there is a possibility that the weapon won't fire, so don't be surprised if randomly in a ship fight the NPC interacts to tell you the problems with the ship, which may include weapon problems.
Function 3: Plot stuff. If something happens or someone would spot ruins or food or something else that is needed, the NPC will post that they found it. Or perhaps read the language. Plot points, something happening, the NPC account will tell you.
Function 4: Moderation of fights. If you want someone to moderate a fight, then the NPC account will deem if the attacks hit, such as a fist fight you want to be fair, ask the NPC to moderate it, and between each hit the NPC account will decide if the punches or knives hit. - In fights, NPC inclusion is optional.
