Rush had left both Scott and TJ behind in the room with the stasis pods. So many things to do, so little time. The bridge would be the best place to go, he decided. From the stasis pod room there were only so many things they could do and check, he was much better suited to be on the bridge than waiting around for pods to open up randomly. There was far more important things than wasting his time standing around for something he couldn't affect or control. There were things he could do and he wasn't one for standing around. Of course, there were several people just fine with waiting around and doing nothing while everyone else worked. Unfortunately, Rush had just left before Eli had emerged, and he'd rather like if he were there when the boy arrived. Not that he was going to tell him something like 'good work' or 'glad you're here'. Mostly 'how did you fix the pod' and not at all to express that he was actually happy that Eli had managed to fix the pod. Either way, all of that could wait until he was settled.
Entering the bridge was like a breath of fresh air. It seemed when the ship recharged the life support turned on, and activated his pod, followed by TJ's and Scott's. From the bridge he noticed another had been activated shortly after he had left. He couldn't focus on that. However, at this rate everyone would be released in a short amount of time. If he wanted to set anything up to hinder Young - no, Rush, you're supposed to be working with Young. Don't forget all of that progress the two of you made before the stasis pods. Yes, well, just in case. Rush fought with himself over this matter for a good two seconds before he shook his head and continued to work. It was far more important to make sure they weren't all going to die first, then worry about Young possibly being an idiot and doing something he'd strongly advise against, or not doing something Rush strongly advised to do.
After booting everything up, he turned lights on all around the ship (they couldn't have people running through a dark ship to check things with just flashlights or whatever they would have), checked the life support. Once he had established that basic necessities were in order, Rush began looking at the navigation systems, seeing where they were. Unfortunately, a timer he'd rigged had malfunctioned along the way so he couldn't tell how long they were in the pods. Contacting Earth would clear that up.
Turned out, they were right where they were supposed to be, in the next Galaxy, on course to a nearby planet where, according to the computers they'd find supplies they would need. Hopefully that would include food and water, as they were short, seeing as any fresh supplies had to be used up anyways. The systems seemed to not be in a too deteriorated state so they couldn't have been gone for too many years, lest there would be more damage just due to time.

To say he was troubled was an understatement. Eli had been so pleased to see Matt and TJ it had taken him a few minutes to realize just about everybody else was still in stasis. Checking over the controls himself he saw what everybody else had already seen, the systems checked out as fine. Whatever the reason the pods weren't all opening as planned it wasn't showing up in the control room.
With Rush already gone to the Bridge Eli knew the best place for him was to head up there himself. Besides he was very curious about where they were and how much time had passed. Before leaving the Stasis room Eli grabbed the Kino and remote he had left behind before he entered his pod. There was no way he was going to put himself in stasis without saying a few words for prosperity just in case the worse should happen.
With his path clearly lit up Eli assumed Rush had turned on all the lights and other systems in the main areas of the ship the crew was familiar with. It felt weird to see it all lit up again. The last time he was awake he was pretty much in the dark except during the time he was working on fixing the last stasis pod.
"It is almost like I just went to sleep for the night and woke up to another typical day aboard the Destiny," Eli said out loud as he road the elevator to the bridge level. The Kino was floating before him recording his every word. "Given we have definitely crossed over the gap between galaxies thanks to a quick look out the observation deck revealed stars, at least three years has passed. Lets hope the natives of this galaxy are a little less hostile."
Stopping the recording as the elevators swooshed open, Eli headed out and down the hall till he reached the bridge. It was unlocked and clearly active. For a moment Eli just looked at the back of Rush's head where he sat in the central chair. Eli was actually glad to see him out and about. Despite how annoying and frustrating Dr. Rush could be Eli did grudgingly feel respect for the man, even if he hated it when Rush bossed him around or acted like he was just a child.
"I've forgotten how impressive the bridge is," Eli said as he entered the bridge, casually letting the Kino hover along behind. Getting Rush to speak on camera wasn't easy but Eli knew he needed as much coverage of Dr. Rush as he could get for his documentary. "Find anything interesting so far?"

Rush had looked up from the console for just moment when Eli had come in, spotting the kino he never was seen without. Making a slightly disappointed face he turned back to the controls, and hid a slightly smile. Of course, he liked the kid, he respected the kid, and he'd started to come to terms with the fact Eli was actually smarter than him. Would he admit that fact? No. Probably not. Unless they were in a very dire situation. However, unlike Young, if Eli stated a logical possibility, Rush wouldn't be totally against it and would consider his proposal, before probably dismissing it as probably very dangerous or so unlikely to succeed it wouldn't be worth the benefits.
"Turn that thing off," Rush said and pointed to the kino as he turned to walk over to the next console, shaking his head. At this point he was looking for what caused the malfunction in the stasis pods, though will little luck. There just wasn't much information. Perhaps it was in their calculations, or the program they used to wake them up. He just wasn't sure. Of course, he was an expert in these systems, and if he didn’t figure it out, no one would. While it wouldn't do any good to really know what happened exactly, knowing how the ship was damaged would be a good first step. He was leaning down to check the damage due to the years at this point. Scott had found a place where they had been hit by an asteroid.
"Are you just going to stare? I know its magnificent, but you should try to be helpful and not just stand around." Rush looked up again, and debated for a single second telling Eli that he was glad to see him not dead. It wasn't like he had gone into his pod knowing that Eli might not be there when they woke up. And if he wasn't… well he'd have just lost a good friend of his because they couldn't trust him enough. Then again, Eli's corpse would be a good timer for about how long they had been out… But that would still be a bad situation, and Rush always looked for use in such a terrible situation instead of dwelling on the bad. At least at first. Right now, he much prefer having Eli alive to having his corpse to examine. "I…I'm glad you were able to fix the pod." And that was all he was going to say on the matter right this second. "I've confirmed that we had a hull breach. There was a power surge to the stasis pods, but otherwise, we're fairly undamaged. It's... a surprise, the shape we're in right now. Much better than I expected."

Hearing Rush telling him to turn the Kino off was so familiar Eli couldn't help the smile crossing his face. He certainly could point out again the importance of having the documentary but for once Eli decided not to give in to the temptation. Reaching over behind him he caught the Kino and walked over to one of the unused consoles and set it down. A few taps to the control pad in his hand and he left the Kino there, still turned on. Even if Rush didn't want the thing hovering in his face, Eli wanted it there to record this moment.
He had just glanced out at the view once more when Rush asked him if he was just going to stare. Blinking Eli turned away from the view and felt a moment of irritation and shame at not offering to help quicker. He may have stepped up to be the one to fix the pod as he had the best chance of succeeding but old habits died hard. Then Rush mentioned he was glad he did fix the pod and Eli felt a sense of accomplisment. Rush was not an easy man to work with but Eli did respect him, even if he hated being bossed around by the older man.
"Me too," Eli replied with a shrug. He knew better than to get all emotional about what Rush said, even though he was feeling it inside. It was easier to resort to jokes anyway. Then he focused on being serious and stepped down from the higher level of the bridge to one of the other control consoles near to where Rush was. "Is that why the Stasis pods aren't all opening up now? Maybe Destiny didn't want too many people awake as we don't have much food and water left."
For the moment Eli didn't want to bring up he had to make changes to the stasis controls to get the last one working. He was pretty sure what he modified wouldn't be preventing them from waking up the rest of the crew. It wasn't impossible his changes might have caused the issue on top of a power surge. He couldn't neglect the possibility the problem was just Destiny acting on their behave.

Eli was just a kid, a kid who was growing up, but still a kid. At least in Rush's mind. It wasn't surprising that he still held onto the childish fantasies of needing to record the whole thing, when there was almost no chance of anyone ever seeing his 'documentary'. However, he had to admit there was some sense in it, as if they all died… well he didn't want to think of the whole time travel fiasco with the Novans and how it was useful to waste some time on a life they didn't actually ever live… or perhaps he was still upset they managed just fine without him, even though he was the one who prevented them from ended up like that in the first place. Rush brushed those thoughts aside. They were distracting thinking about the past events like that. It would be just as useful thinking of his time held by the Lucien Alliance, being forced to do their bidding, nearly dying, or thinking about being kidnapped by the aliens and trapped on their ship until he was freed and he ran with Chloe to return to the Destiny. Oh great. There he went thinking about those things again. Next he knew he was going to dwell on - stop right there Nicholas.
For those few moments his eyes had become unfocused as he was lost in thought. He blinked a couple times and stood straight, as he'd been leaning to look at the controls. He took a moment before he turned towards Eli with a blank look. While a power surge could have caused their problems, Rush doubted it. The surge probably was a sign of… well something else, possibly due to the fact that Eli was here and got his stasis pod to work. There didn't seem to be any damage, though he couldn't rule anything out. He'd get the process out of Eli later of how he managed to get his pod working, which could be a good clue into the current behavior of the pods.
"It's possible the Destiny is preventing us from opening the rest. If you look at who has been released so far, me, you, TJ, and Scott. The brains, the brawn, and the medic. The basic necessities." Rush turned again towards the consoles, taking a seat in front of one of them as he began to run a few extra scans over the ship and her systems. "If that were the case, shouldn't we be able to force it open? While the Destiny is semi-sentient, we've been able to control her before. Opened gates to places we weren't supposed to." Even if something Eli had done caused this malfunction, if he had to pick anyone off the entire ship to have with him right now, Eli was probably the one who would be the most help. If, of course, he got to work and actually was useful like he was supposed to be.
"I think what's more important now isn't the stasis pods. Waking everyone up right now won't help our other shortages. While we were traveling a few asteroids hit us, caused a few hull breaches, not a big deal. The shields are holding. We need to get all of our systems back online, weapons, shields, we don't know if this is a friendly galaxy or not. After the last one, I'd rather not be unprepared." Rush rushed to the console next to the one he was just at and pressed a couple buttons before returning to his original console. "We'll need sensors, internal and external. It'd be nice if we knew if we'd picked up a passenger while were sleeping or not." Rush took a deep breath and stopped what he was doing for just a moment. "After all of this is done, we'll need to assign someone to the stones. Try to contact Earth. I'd like to know exactly how long we've been asleep, and if they've made any progress getting here." After listing all of the things they needed to at least try to get done, Rush got back to work, rerouting some power around a damaged conduit by an asteroid's damage so they had at least the most power to the shield right this moment. Rush looked towards Eli with a 'c'mon, let's go' look and then started on his way doing whatever he could from here, without the aid of the actual machinery getting physically fixed.

The worry he had that his modifications to the Stasis controls to get the last pod operational was preventing them from waking everybody up faded as Rush listed off what needed to be done. Eli was brilliant and his mind worked in such a way any problem presented to him he wanted to solve it. He struggled always with self confidence on being useful among other things but he knew he was useful here.
"Right," Eli replied then moved over to one of the consoles and turned his attention to the readings. It didn't take long to confirm everything Rush had said about what happened to the ship while they were asleep. When he recalled the mention of potentially 'visitors' Eli paused and picked up the Kino and sent it on search mode. It was a useful tool, probably one of the most useful he had found since coming aboard. "I sent the Kino on search mode, it'll alert us should it find anything moving about that shouldn't be moving about."
He quickly wrote up a program and uploaded to the Kino so it would alert them if it found anybody on board besides those who were already awake. There was always a chance it may stumble upon somebody who just woke up but Eli thought by the time that happened the Kino may have already moved away from the Stasis pods. Once the program was done he turned his attention back to the console before him.
"Destiny must have charged up not too long ago, her reserves are as full as they have been able to get since we came aboard," Eli reported. If only they knew how to fix the storage batteries, then they wouldn't have to stop to recharge as often and would have more power available for defenses. The ship was old and there weren't a whole lot of spare parts lying around they could use. Even the parts they salvaged from the twin Destiny wouldn't last long, unless they didn't get attacked again.
"Lets hope this galaxy is completely uninhabited, we definitely don't have any luck with aliens," Eli commented as he worked. After being alone for a few days he felt the need to talk now that he was awake. A part of him still worried this was just a dream and he was slowly freezing to death as the Destiny drifted without any power. Shivering slightly at the morbid thought Eli focused on the console before him. He noticed a damaged conduit did what he could to reroute power around it. Making a note of the location he started compiling a list. They still had the repair robot which they could use to fix many of these damaged areas on the outer hull next time they were out of FTL.
